Men's Sizing Guidelines
Can Men Wear Our Leggings?
The answer is, yes! This is a question asked very often and because of the nature of leggings, men can easily wear virtually any of our leggings as long as the right size is purchased.
There are two important things to consider on the size chart: WAIST and HIPS sizing
How to Size Leggings for Men
Women's bodies are built differently so it is important to take the waist and hips sizing guidelines on our chart when choosing a size. This is because of the inherent difference in the structure of a woman's body compared to a man's body. Leggings are generally meant to be worn as a tight fashion piece and because the fabric tends to be stretchy, your leg portion will not be a huge consideration unless you have larger than average leg girth.
With that said, if you look at the sizing of our "Large" leggings on the chart you will see a waist of 30-31 inches and a hips of 40-42 inches. With these parameters, we recommend a men's waist of up to 33 inches because of the hip width. REMEMBER, everyone's body is built differently so if you have more weiht in your middles section, you will have to size yourself accordingly meaning, if you have more weight in your belly area then take that into account. Sizing is premised on the standard or average body type.
So a man who stands 5'11" and weighs 170lbs and a 32inch waist would be a "Large" size. If you are 5'11" and 200lbs, you are then probably an "Extra Large". If you are 5'7" and weight 150lbs, you will probably be a medium. If you are 6'3" and 210lbs with a standard frame, we would suggest "Extra Large".
Sizing for One Size Leggings
At Only Leggings, we have the experience of helping thousands of men find the right size for them through our in store sales. This allows us to gauge how various cuts and sizes of leggings will fit on a man's frame. For ONE SIZE leggings, we have had men as big as 6'3" 200lbs fit into our one size leg fashion pieces. Yes, they would be tighter than they would be as compared to a man who is 5'7" 160 lbs but because of the nature of leggings, the fabric stretches very nicely around a standard sized man's frame. You MUST assess your own body frame. If you have a standard bpdy frame with evenly dispersed body fat, one size leggings can be a very good fit. Be honest with your body type and frame and select the legging size that would best match your frame.
REMEMBER: Leggings are fabric held together by thread through the center. If a legging is overly tight, it will come apart at the stitch so keep this in mind when trying on leggings.
REMEMEBER: Coated leggings such as the shiny metallic leggings will generally have less stretch than faux leather leggings or even our basic nylon leggings that are the most easy to fit because of their unhindered stretch. Anytime a legging or tight is coated it will generally have less stretch as the coating inhibits the natural flow of the legging.
